Burma Love was highly recommended to us by our friends. We were blown away. Staff were exceptional - very friendly and welcoming to our whole family and helped us find good menu options for everyone including our small kids. Everyone, including all three kids ages 10, 7, and 2, LOVED the food. They are normally picky eaters but they even wanted to return! Wife and I shared the tea leaf salad which was also phenomenal. Zero complaints. Fantastic spot, and will happily return, hopefully soon!
The general experience with the staff made dining here not very pleasant. The food is very good and they have vegan and vegetarian options. Our waiter Simon was nice and helpful, he was the exception. The hostess was pompous and rude. It was like she was doing us a favor for letting us eat there. The food came in very fast. We had just paid the bill, the table wasn't even cleared, when we were asked to vacate the table, which felt awkward and embarrassing. It was a birthday celebration dinner, so there were eight of us, but we were not lingering, we were just finishing our dinner. They rushed in to clean the table, as we started to get up to leave, and they spilled a glass of water onto one of our guests, soaking her clothes with water. They didn't even apologized. At one point during dinner I went to the bathroom and I had to move out of the way to avoid colliding with them, and they were not even carrying food or plates in their hands. In general they were not very welcoming or courteous, dinner felt rushed, so I don't plan to go back there anytime soon.
This place is excellent. One of the best meals we have had in SF. The food is so rich and flavourful. When they say something is spicy, it is spicy. I had the Spicy Lamb and was sweating like crazy. Delicious. The Burma IPA is also great.
Ate at Burma Superstar with a group of friends for our last meal in SF. Our waiter was attentive and friendly and the food was extraordinary. Everything we ordered (tea leaf salad, rainbow salad, catfish curry, braised pork belly with mustard greens, tea leaf rice) was flavorful. Sad that there isn’t a Burma Superstar in Chicago - will definitely be back the next time I visit the Bay Area!
We had the best experience here! Our server was so friendly and all our food was unbelievably delicious, just like in Burma/Myanmar (which my partner and I have actually visited a few years ago). Highly recommended! :) Lives up to the hype
