My dad lives right across the street from Alice's so this is a very convenient place to hang out when they are not so busy. On weekends, this place gets destroyed by motorcyclists and people with fancy cars going for cruises, we can hear and smell it all from my dads place. The food is terrific and they have all local beers on tap. The service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant too. If you want to ride your horse in you can bring it around back, and they have a nice little meadow behind the restaurant that is peaceful and enjoyable. Out of control on weekends as always. Great spot to go with family or any time. Love Alice's,updated march 2022
Let's be honest, half the reason we go here is for the drive. Who doesn't love that curvy road!? The food isn't the best you'll find, but it's pretty dang good. I ordered the pulled pork and it was very good. I liked the sauce coming on the side so I could decide how saucy to make it. I also got a side of sweet potato fries. They were nice and hot when they arrived. Since it wasn't busy, the staff delivered my food directly to the table which was an excellent bonus. Overall, I loved the atmosphere, the staff, and the food. I can't wait to come back and eat here again.
I had the pepper steak. I love pepper, but it was honestly too much. My wife had the pesto pasta. The pasta was good, but nothing spectacular. We did notice that their burgers were popular. We will go back, but we both agreed to stick with burgers here. Outside of the dining experience, the location was pretty cool. It’s nestled in the woods above Palo Alto and there are lots of hiking/biking trails and fun roads to drive your car on. This is a great place to break up a day in the woods.
Love love love this place. Excellent food and great ambience. Burgers, sandwiches, breakfast fare all are well seasoned and cooked. Tons of different drink options. But do try the Apple Cider and coffee! We have been here for breakfast, brunch and lunch. It has never been disappointing. Also a big plus is a chance to check out the brilliant rides in the parking lot.
I haven't been here in a while; like over a decade, but my date brought me here on his Harley. This is still one of my favorite spots! It's cozy rustic appeal in the middle of the redwoods would delight anyone. They have an amazing menu and food as well. This time I had (can't remember the name of it) pizza: pear, bacon, brie, and arugula. I didn't think any of that would go tastefully on a pizza; so I was naturally curios to try it. It was INCREDIBLE!
